Some days back, I felt sad and depressed over the fact that my phone got stolen ( i know its a minor issue right! LOL. But at the time it happened i didnt feel that way, rather it felt like a major issue….. you know how we youths get attached to our phone and gadgets!!!)
Arghh… I felt so bad that I didn’t want to talk to anyone, I just wanted to be in my own.
My mum came back home from work and met me seated quietly in the verandah (which is very unusual, because am usually a talkative at home, I make a lot of noise so everyone knows am home, at times I can be so hyper!!!).
She asked my siblings what happened to me, they told her that on my way back home, my phone got stolen. When she heard this, she laughed. She look at me and said:
“Aimee, it’s not the end of the world!! it’s just a phone you can always get a new one. It’s not something to worry over. Don’t think about it. God has a reason for things going the way they went…
After saying this to me, i felt a lot lighter and better.(My mum always gives the best advice!!). While we sat together talking, I remembered scriptures from the bible which says;
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.Psalms 16:9
2 Corinthians 6:10
As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
I realised that happiness is found in little things and gestures of appreciation and gratitude. Happiness is found in scriptures, its found in our daily lives,it’s found among friends and families. Surprisingly, its also found in the depressing situations (ever been in a really bad situation, that when you start recalling what caused things to happen the way they did, you end up laughing about it?).
There are a number of reasons why you have to smile. It doesn’t matter what kind of situation you find yourself in. Being happy and smiling, at every gloomy situation can make a great difference.
Smiling is a great life lift, it’s a mood enhancer when practiced in our daily lives.
I always tell myself “a good life revolves around a smile”.
If there is anything I have learnt, it’s that life will always serve you reasons to be unhappy. But you know what? It’s your ability to live take control of the things around you that makes you a little happier than you ever were.
It’s time to live life to the fullest!!!
Forget about the adversities you may have been faced with. You have have just one life not two, make the most out of it, enjoy what you have now and worry less about what you don’t have, it will come at the right time.
You have the power to make yourself happy and feel great!!
Think about the reasons you have feel grateful for!
Live a life full of love, fun, joy, gratitude and an open mind towards your own creativity.
Happiness comes from within not outside. Create memories that put a smile on you face.
If you ever have a reason to quit, find a reason to put a smile on your face and stay happy always.
Happiness creates a life you love. Stay happy always!!
Till next time,take care.
